Visit to Lok Kawi Wildlife Park Sabah

On Sunday, the 11th of November 2012, the Persatuan Ibu Bapa Dan Guru (PIBG) of Sekolah Rendah Piasau-Piasau went on a day visit to Lok Kawi Wildlife Park in Sabah. this was organised by the members of the PIBG and was one of the year’s activities of the PIBG as part of their efforts to improve the relationship between the teachers and the parents of the students of the school.

The group of teachers, parents and students assembled at Kampung Piasau-Piasau at 5 in the morning to wait for the 45-seater bus that would take them on the 4-hour drive to Lok Kawi.

The group arrived at Lok Kawi at around 10:30 am, and was welcomed by one of the staff who went on to explain what can be seen at the park. The group went to watch the animal show which started at around 11 am. The crowd was entertained by various acts which included animals native to Sabah, such as hornbills, snakes and a parrot, who could solve Maths problems.

After the show the group went on to walk around the park to look at various animals on show, such as elephants, wild cats, various species of birds, and various monkeys.

After spending most of the day at the park, the group headed to Centrepoint in Kota Kinabalu to have lunch and do some shopping, before heading back to Temburong.

Opening Ceremony Of “Sulap Ilmu” and Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebration

On the 8th of September 2012, Sekolah Rendah Piasau-Piasau held an opening ceremony for the school’s Sulap Ilmu. The Sulap Ilmu was officially opened by the guest of honour Ustaz Md Sabtu bin Sapar, Chairman of the Parents-Teachers Association of Sekolah Rendah Piasau-Piasau. The ceremony was blessed with a recitation of Al-Fatihah by Ustaz Hj Adam bin Musa. The Headmistress of Sekolah Rendah Piasau-Piasau also consented to give a speech, citing in her speech the significance of the Sulap Ilmu as part of the school.

The Sulap Ilmu is the name given to a wooden hut on the compound of the school, which displays a collection of teaching aids, posters, pictures and pupils’ work on its inside walls. The term “sulap” refers to a collection of different genres of knowledge.

On the same day the school also held a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration. The pupils performed Hari Raya songs for those who attended the celebration. Pupils from Years 1 and 2 performed “Suasana Hari Raya” whereas the pupils from Years 3 and 4 performed “Indahnya Sungguh Di Hari Raya”. Pupils from Years 5 and 6 also performed “Balik Kampung”. After the celebration, the attendees then went to “beraya” at the “open classes”.

Hiking At Bukit Patoi

Assalamualaikum

 

As part of AKSI (Aktiviti Sihat) programme, Sekolah Rendah Piasau-Piasau held a hiking activity at Bukit Patoi Forest Reserve, involving the teachers, staff, pupils and some parents.

Aerobic exercise to warm up the body was conducted by Cikgu Fazr before the hiking started. As there are different aged children with different levels of physical fitnes, the pupils were divided into different groups, with some teachers leading each group.

Kem Motivasi PSR

Assalamualaikum

Pada 19hb Mei 2012, Perkhidmatan Bimbingan dan Kaunseling, Bahagian Kaunseling dan Kerjaya, Jabatan Sekolah-Sekolah, Kementerian Pendidikan telah menganjurkan Kem Motivasi bagi murid-m,urid tahun 6 dari Sekolah-Sekolah Rendah di Daerah Temburong.

Kem motivasi tersebut telah diadakan di Dewan Sekolah Rendah Puni, dan diikuti oleh murid-murid tahun 6 dari Sekolah-Sekolah Rendah di Daerah Temburong, guru-guru bimbingan dan guru-guru pengawas dari setiap sekolah.

Dalam kem motivasi tersebut, ada beberapa aktiviti telah dijalankan dan beberapa ceramah disampaikan oleh pihak BKK. Beberapa hadiah juga telah dianugerahkan kepada peserta terbaik dan kumpulan terbaik

Kejohanan Bola Jaring Sekolah-Sekolah Rendah Peringkat Temburong

Assalamualaikum

Sukacita dimaklumkan pada 27, 28 dan 31 haribulan Mac 2012, Sekolah Rendah Piasau-Piasau akan mengendalikan Kejohanan Bola Jaring Sekolah-Sekolah Rendah bagi peringkat daerah Temburong. Kejohanan ini dianjurkan oleh Jabatan Pendidikan Kokurikulum Daerah Temburong, dan akan diadakan di kawasan lapang Jabatan Pendidikan Kokurikulum, Bangar.

Sekolah-sekolah yang ikut serta adalah Sekolah Rendah Sultan Hasan Bangar, Sekolah Rendah Selangan, Sekolah Rendah Sultan Hashim Batu Apoi, Sek0lah Rendah Puni, Sekolah Rendah Amo, Sekolah Rendah Negalang dan tuan rumah Sekolah Rendah Piasau-Piasau.

Pengadil-pengadil perlawanan adalah guru-guru dari sekolah-sekolah yang mengikuti kejohanan yang telah dilantik oleh tuan rumah kejohanan dan Jabatan Pendidikan Kokurikulum.

Visit By Health Promotion Unit

Assalamualaikum

 

On the 26th of January 2012, officers from the Health Promotion Unit, Dentists’ Office and Primary School Medical Unit visited Sekolah Rendah Piasau-Piasau for a working visit, and to inspect whether the school has met the standard health, cleanliness and safety awareness requirments for schools.

The officers were also given a short presentation on the school’s plans for maintaining the school’s health promotion, activities related to cleanliness in school, and various demonstrations for safety awareness in schools. The briefing was given by Cikgu Mohamad Firdaus bin Haji Mohamad Aus, in charge of the school’s health promotion, cleanliness and safety awareness programmes.

Happy New Year 2012!

Assalamualaikum and salam sejahtera!

Today marks a new year in the school calendar; children have started their school year and teachers are about to embark on yet another year of teaching.

In Sekolah Rendah Piasau-Piasau this is no different. The day started as usual, with the pupils assembled at the assembly area as soon as the first bell rang. They and the teachers and staff stood and sang the National Anthem. The Headmistress gave her annual start-of-the-year speech and advised the pupils to up the ante in their studies for the new year.

This year, Sekolah Rendah Piasau-Piasau has undergone some changes. Most notably, in terms of teaching manpower (or womanpower also, in this case), as the school bid farewell to two teachers, Cikgu Michael Tanggiling, who had taught here for around 6 years and has moved on to Sekolah Rendah Batu Apoi; and Cikgu Narul Iswady, who has moved to Sekolah Rendah Beribi-Telanai in the Brunei-Muara District and Cikgu Elmo Ramano, who has moved on to Sekolah Rendah Bukit Udal in the Tutong district. The school wishes these teachers all the best in their future endeavours. The school, however, wishes to welcome 2 new teachers. First, Cikgu Layun binti Ulat, who moved here from Sekolah Rendah Negalang, and Cikgu Fazri bin Puteh, from Sekolah Rendah Sultan Hassan Bangar. It is hoped that these new faces will give their best to our school.

There are also some changes in the number of pupils, as 3 have moved to Sekolah Persediaan Arab. 2 pupils, however have moved into the school, 2 brothers, Joel and Ezra Chin, who happens to be sons of new teacher, Cikgu Layun. They are in Years 3 and 5 respectively. Below are some pictures from the first day of the new school year.

Live@Edu Workshop at SR Batu Apoi

On Tuesday, November 22 and Wednesday, November 23, 2011, Cikgu Zaimi Awat and Cikgu Elzam Sazali from SR Labu Estate and Cikgu Michael Tanggiling and Cikgu Ahmad Waridi Hj Ahmad carried out a sharing session for Live@Edu, where teachers from both SR Piasau-Piasau and SR Labu Estate were shown on how to fully utilise their Live@Edu accounts for sharing ideas and resources which would assist in their teaching. They are shown on how to create folders for sharing within the Live@Edu environment, use Skydrive to enable multiple-document sharing, and to enable meetings to be set within the Live@Edu environment. It is hoped that teachers will fully utilise their knowledge to ensure effectiveness of their everyday teaching and work.

Majlis Perhimpunan Pra 2011

On the 23rd of November 2011 all the pra pupils, pra teachers and various other teachers and officers in Temburong gathered at Dewan Belalong in Bangar, Temburong.

It was a festive affair, where the pra pupils wore beautiful robes and received their graduation certificates. The pupils also performed songs and dances to entertain the crowd.

There was also an exhibition in the hall where those attended could see first hand examples on how Pra classes look like, with all the displays of things teachers use in their teaching, such as dolls, puppets, etc.

The guest of honor was Cikgu Hj Zulkipli bin Hj Ladis, the Pemangku Pegawai Tugas-Tugas Khas in the Ministry of Education.
